Learning Resource Centres

ACE Charity Africa

The Learning Resource Centre School Project addresses the learning poverty in public primary schools, in disadvantaged communities, through the creation of conducive learning environments for learners and the delivery of flexible literacy and numeracy instructions that are tailored to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of learners, with ultimate focus on improving learning outcomes for children from deprived backgrounds who show limited literacy and numeracy abilities. The Learning Resource Centres are fully equipped with comfortable furniture, age-appropriate books, computers, android tablets, instructional materials, teaching and learning resources, a comprehensive learning resource manual and experienced resource staff to run the learning centres.

NOBLE Club and
Safe Space Club

Children enrolled in public schools in disadvantaged communities often lack access to extracurricular activities and experiential forms of learning needed to aid their overall mental and emotional well-being. Due to financial constraints in these schools, only traditional classroom learning is prioritized.   As a result, they are less likely to gain critical 21st-century soft skills they need to fully thrive and are thus unable to compete with their peers in private schools.

Our Learning Resource Centres are the perfect avenues to provide school children with club activities aimed at instilling soft skills like confidence, leadership and communication. Through the NOBLE and Safe Space clubs, public primary school children in Primary 5 and 6 are empowered to reach their full potential and to be extraordinary leaders who can compete with their peers from well-off socio-economic backgrounds. Gaining these skills will lead to the development of more confident and well-rounded children who can contribute to their personal development, the development of their families and subsequently their communities.
