"When I heard about the opening at ACE Charity, I just knew it was a call for me" - Choice Amesi (Intern, ACE Charity)
I always admired ACE Charity from a distance, as I followed all their achievements in the humanitarian sector. Particularly, I followed the Careers at Hilton program and was inspired by the depth of impact in the lives of the selected youth.
When I heard about the opening at ACE Charity, I just knew it was a call for me. Without a thought, I dived at the opportunity to be a member of this inspiring team and contribute my quota to impacting lives around the world.
Today, six months down the line at ACE Charity, the wins we have recorded and are still recording have been awesome. Participating in the various projects has been so fulfilling as I am always excited to see smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries.
Particularly, my role in the ACE Radio School project has been another great win for me as once again, I am contributing to the continuity of Children’s education in this trying time of the COVID-19 pandemic. I handle the creation of videos for ACE Radio School YouTube Page which has in turn enhanced my video editing skills.
Personally, my multitasking and teamwork skills have greatly improved as I work seamlessly with members of the team without having issues. During the planning of the Business Empowerment Program for Women, I was tasked with developing a work plan and I had no idea how to. However, I was able to learn this skill from my team. I am also better able to match the pace at which ACE Charity moves.
Overall, I have developed many vital skills in just six months of working with the Team. I remain grateful to ACE Charity for the opportunity to serve in this capacity as an intern
